Scanone (Yellow Machines)
DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog (The Gluerooms)
The next Çonic Social is the third in a regular monthly night at Bar Vinyl, Inverness Street, Camden NW1 hosted by Cybersonica – London’s annual festival of music, sound, art and technology – and now moves to the first Wednesday of every month.
For those of you interested in the technology, methodology and production behind the music then at 9pm we have a demonstration by DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog who will show what goes on behind their particular brand of circuit bent analogue mayhem – including re-routed childrens toys, magnetic hotel keys, feedback, casio keyboards, and an array of unrecognisable home-made devices. Always entertaining you really should catch these Cybersonica regulars doing what comes naturally!
So with bass driven electronics from DJ & producer Scanone, an unnatural barrage of clatter from DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog, complex micro-collages from Ad Hoc and eclectic electronics from DJ Çonic you should join us at our ‘hang-out’ for progressive electronic music makers and fans looking for somewhere to meet like-minded people, share creative work and techniques and enjoy fresh, vibrant music and performance.

Once again… big thanks to all who entertained us at Çonic Social v0.2 and to everyone who who came along. Despite a slightly fraught start (cheers to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and pitched in early on) the night was as varied and entertaining as expected. Boep managed to just about squeeze into the DJ booth and still stretch the venue sound system with their improvised loop-based live set, DJ Cylob showed off his Cylob Music System (there’s an mp3 of his software demo below) and Ben Osborne grooved us out with some progressive disco – albeit a bit too late in the evening for most (sorry Ben!).
And just to make it clear… these mp3s are recordings of the live sets and DJ mixes from the night made available with the permission of the performers – topped and tailed, normalised and and mildly processed but otherwise undedited and untreated. Essentially you’re hearing what you would in the venue.
Check back soon to see some photos and watch a short video from the night…
